President invites AL, BNP to dialogue

President Zillur Rahman invited 10 more
political parties including ruling Awami League and the main
opposition BNP to dialogue before formation of new Election
Commission.

The invitation was sent to Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to sit
in dialogue on January 11 while to Bangladesh Awami League on January
12, President's press secretary Nesar Uddin Bhuiyan told UNB.

Besides, talks will be held with Gonoforum and Bangladesh Islami
Oikya Jote (Mejbah) on January 1, Islami Andolon Bangladesh and
Bangladesh Jatiya Party -BJP on January 2, Krishak Sramik Janata
League and Bangladesh Samajtrantrik Dal (Koliquzzaman) on January 4
and Bilakpadhara Bangladesh and Bangladesh National Awami Party
(Mozaffar) on January 9.

The talks with two parties in a day will be held separately at 11 am
and 12 noon.

The tenure of Chief Election Commissioner Dr ATM Shamsul Huda and
Election Commissioner M Sohul Hussein will expire on February 5 while
that of Election Commissioner Brig Gen (retd) M Sakhawat Hossain on
February 14.
